FOCUS

Please note: The FOCUS application portal is now closed

FOCUS is an opportunity to access sector specific business development expertise to support your company growth. A total value of up to £37500 is allocated per company, making this a real opportunity to access significant business development.

The project is delivered by Film City Futures in partnership with Scottish Documentary Institute, and supported by Screen Scotland.

Each participating company works on a one-to-one basis with a dedicated business development consultant who has expertise in the screen sector. The company is then able to access further support from a range of highly experienced and well-connected experts in areas such as development, finance, sales & distribution, marketing and HR.

Film City Futures will work with 20 companies during the pilot who are committed to growing their business.

JUMPCUT

Around 25 young people aged between 16 and 25 form a production company to make a professional, budgeted short film. Each year we accept applications from a wide range of young people with varying levels of experience.

The main thing we are looking for is a passion for film and television, a commitment to hard work and a desire to work in these areas as a career. We are also happy to include young people with experience in other areas, e.g. trainee hair and makeup and trainee electricians.

The selected crew will learn about pre-production, production and post-production under the guidance of industry professional mentors. During filming participants may undertake production roles that they have never done before with the support of the industry mentor. Many former participants go on to find work and work placements in the industry.

The most recent JUMPCUT production took place in April and May 2016.
